Manages the design, layout, development and printing of Council publications, including the Annual Council Calendar of Programs, Summer Camp Course Catalogue, Annual Report, Quarterly Newsletter, Fall School Course Brochure, Annual Meeting Program Book and Materials, Advertisements, and others.  Designs and maintains Council Website and oversees development and utilization of social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).  Must be flexible and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously, respond to ad hoc project requests, maintain council database and have strong editorial skills.

Fund Development Manager

The Fund Development Manager will research, strategize, compose and submit grants, corporate requests, United Ways/Funds or manage and support their submission. This position assists in the cultivation process of potential donors, coordinates special events, managers Annual Appeals and works in partnership with volunteer committees. Pathway Program Specialists - Part-time

The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council has openings for Part-Time Pathway Program Specialists. The position will be responsible for delivering girl oriented programming in primarily an outdoor setting. The job will require you to work on weekends and evenings. Day Camp Coordinator

Salary Range:  approx $2500 including salary and bonus

Position Description:  The Day Camp Coordinator has a wide range of responsibilities relating to advocacy for and smooth integration of the Day Camp program into overall operations.  The Day Camp Coordinator will manage scheduling and transportation logistics, program quality, parent communication and staff management for the Day Camp Program.  In general, Day Campers account for roughly one-third of our camper population. 

Health Coordinator

Salary Range:  approx $2500 including salary and bonus

Position Description:  The Health Coordinator has a wide range of responsibilities relating to the health and wellbeing of the camp community.  In addition to responding to all medical situations and managing the distribution of prescription and OTC medication, the Health Coordinator is also responsible for management of the health records, maintenance of the health center and first aid and wellness supplies, management of the physical and emotional wellness of campers and staff, emergency drills, and “golden broom,” Additionally, Lost and Found property and distribution of camper information to appropriate areas.

Leadership Programs Coordinator

Salary Range:  approx $2500 including salary and bonus

Prerequisites: Previous camp experience.  Previous experience working with young women age 13-17 in Leadership Training.  The ability to teach a wide variety of program and youth development skills as they relate to organized camping.  Must have a passion for working with young women in the outdoors.

Position Description: The Leadership Programs Coordinator has a vital role at camp... the education and empowerment of our next generation of the camp staff team!  Overseeing the Program Aide (young women grades 8-10) and Counselor-In-Training (young women grades 11-12) Programs, this team member will be responsible for the implementation of curriculum on a wide variety of topics (outdoor living skills, games/songs/crafts, teambuilding, positive guidance, professional workplace skills, assorted sports, asset building, etc.).  The ability to lead and inspire, convey a large quantity of information effectively and design and implement nearly 100 hours of curriculum is vital.  This role is well suited for a candidate with a wealth of camp experience, an understanding of the mission and purpose of camp, and the desire to help young women on their path to becoming great leaders!  The Leadership Programs Coordinator has the responsibility of creating a high-quality experience, ensuring the emotional and physical safety of their campers and staff, ensuring that the experience is girl driven and girl focused, and working as a leader in the camp community to create a culture of empowerment and enthusiasm for everyone! 

Unit Leader (6 Positions Available)

Salary Range:  approx $2200 including salary and bonus

Minimum age:  18  (21 with Driver’s License Preferred) (International Driver’s Licence if International Staff Member)
Prerequisites: Must have a passion for working with young women in the outdoors.
Supervised by:  Program Director    Supervises:  Unit Counselors (1-4)
Position Description: Unit Leaders will be working throughout the season with a variety of groups and ages in both Resident Camp and Resident/Day Camp combinations.  The Unit Leader will participate in offerings ranging from horseback riding, swimming and boating, drama and music, cooking, outdoor living skills and more.  The Unit Leader should be prepared to learn new skills and share experiences with a wide variety of ages and activities in their role.   The Unit Leader will support and supervise 8-24 campers of assorted ages, and 1-5 members of staff and Leadership Campers (such as Program Aides and Counselors-InTraining)  in all aspects of daily life at camp.  All Unit Leaders have the responsibility of creating a high-quality experience, ensuring the emotional and physical safety of their campers and staff, ensuring that the experience is girl driven and girl focused, and working as a leader in the camp community to create a culture of empowerment and enthusiasm for everyone!

Unit Counselor (6 Positions Available)

Salary Range:  approx $2000 including salary and bonus

Position Description: Arguably the “Heart and Soul of Camp,” Unit Counselors play a vital role in creating an empowering and enthusiastic camp culture!  Always challenging and rewarding, a Unit Counselor’s primary focus at all time is on the girls.  Counselors provide a unique blend of instruction, friendship, leadership and wackiness found only at camp.  Be prepared to teach exciting lessons in archery, play games in the pool, explain and demonstrate what it means to be resilient, sing wildly at the top of your lungs... Aquatics Coordinator

Salary Range:  approx $2500 including salary and bonus

Minimum age:  21 (Driver’s License Preferred) (International Driver’s Licence if International Staff Member)
Prerequisites: Waterfront Lifeguard Certification Required, or willingness to complete upon arrival at camp.  Ability to supervise and instruct programs in swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and tubing.  S/he must have a comfort level in operating motorboats and willingness to complete online Boater’s Safety Certification Course.  Must have a passion for working with young women in the outdoors.
Supervised by:  Assistant Camp Director       Supervises:  Aquatics Counselors (Including Waterfront Specialist) (1-4)
Position Description:  The Aquatics Director is responsible for all aspects of the extensive Aquatics program at camp.  S/he will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality programming are met in both pool and open water environments.    The Aquatics Coordinator must have the ability to instruct and supervise staff and campers in the areas of swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and tubing.  The Aquatics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating professional development exercise, safety drills and implementation of the camp-wide aquatic safety protocols.

Aquatics Counselor: Waterfront Specialist (1 Position Available) 

Salary Range:  approx $2000 including salary and bonus
Employment Dates:  June 6- August 15, 2010
Minimum age:  18
Prerequisites: Waterfront Lifeguard Certification Required.  Ability to supervise and instruct programs in swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and tubing.  Must have a passion for working with young women in the outdoors.
Supervised by:  Aquatics Coordinator                            Supervises:  Aquatics Counselors (1-4)

Position Description:  The Waterfront Specialist is responsible for taking the lead in all aspects of the extensive waterfront program at camp.  S/he will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality programming are met in both pool and open water environments.  In the absence of the Aquatics Coordinator, the Aquatics Counselor: Waterfront Specialist will supervise the Aquatics Counselors and all staff in their roles at the waterfront.  The Aquatics Counselor: Waterfront Specialist must have the ability to instruct and supervise staff and campers in the areas of kayaking, sailing and tubing and must be willing to gain  a comfort level in operating motorboats.   The ability to rig and sail small cat-rig and lateen rig boats (Sunfish, Lasers, Zumas) is necessary.  Experience with slightly larger Sloop-rigged boats is preferred.

Aquatics Counselor (1-2 Positions Available)

Salary Range:  approx $2000 including salary and bonus

Minimum age:  18
Prerequisites: Must be certified Waterfront Lifeguard (or have the ability to successfully complete during pre-season training).  Must have basic skills and willingness to instruct in two or more of the following: Canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing.  Must have a passion for working with young women in the outdoors.

Position Description: The Aquatics Counselor plays a vital role in the operation of our extensive aquatic program.  Staff members in this role can expect to spend the majority of their time lifeguarding either at the pool or the open water (tidal river) and in instructing basic and intermediate level participants in the areas of canoeing, kayaking, sailing and/or windsurfing.  Candidates should have strong basic level skills in two or more of the above listed small craft, with a willingness to develop skills in the other areas.  Instruction will be provided.  Aquatics Counselors should have a remarkable dedication to safety.  In addition to these aquatic roles, Aquatics Counselors will serve as additional members of the camp counseling team.  (Please read the job description of “Unit Counselor.”  Those items apply to this role as well!)

Culinary Coordinator

Prerequisites:  Previous culinary experience/comfort level preferred. 
Supervised by:  Assistant Camp Director       Supervises:  Culinary Assistants (1-5)
Position Description: The Culinary Coordinator has full responsibility for all aspects of the Food Service Program at camp.  This includes menu planning, food preparation, supervision of culinary team, supply ordering, facility maintenance, compliance with all aspects of health and safety for food service.  The Culinary Coordinator is responsible for providing healthy, child friendly and unique meals in a family style setting, planning alternate menus for special diets and providing a high quality vegetarian option at all times.  The Culinary team is also responsible for accurately “packing out” supplies and equipment for cook-out experiences and trip and travel experiences.  The Culinary Coordinator will supervise a team of 1-5 Staff and Junior Staff. 

Culinary Assistant

Salary Range:  approx $2000 including salary and bonus
Employment Dates:  June 6- August 15, 2010
Minimum age:  18
Supervised by:  Culinary Coordinator            Supervises:  None
Position Description:  The Culinary Assistant will assist in all areas of the Food Service department including duties in food preparation, dish washing, extensive cleaning, “packing out” for trip and cook-out experiences, managing stock and ensuring the highest quality food service experience. 

Junior Culinary Assistant (2 Positions Available)

Salary Range:  approx $1500 including salary and bonus

All Staff Members…

… Must be able to move themselves through camp across uneven terrain at a pace equal to that of campers.
… Must be able to see and hear sufficiently to be aware of dangers, risks and activities around them.
… Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds.

… Must be able to remain on duty without a break if necessary for up to 24 hours.
