Girl Scouts to Hold Safety Skills Event

The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council will be holding a free public Skills 4 Life—Staying Safe events at the Easton Armory, Georgetown Fire Hall, and Eastern Shore Community College on March 28, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The events will feature presentations to educate families about safety concerns. Skills 4 Life will offer tips on making disaster preparedness kit, chemical and fire safety advice, first aid, personal safety techniques, and information on nuclear preparedness and bioterrorism. There will also be programs on cyber safety, bullying, and gangs. The goals of these programs are to help families to better understand the different kinds of dangers they face today and aid them in becoming better prepared.

Smith, Senior Vice President-Membership Services of the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council. “The Girl Scouts and our partner agencies will offer a wide range of programs to families at this event to ensure that there’s something for every situation and every family member.”
