Product Sales Overview

Product Sales programs are designed to build Daisy, Brownie, Junior and Teen Girl Scouts of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place by discovering, connecting and taking action.

GSCB offers two Product Sales Programs: the Cookie Program (January - March) and the QSP "Be a Reader" & Nut Program (September/October). Girl participation is voluntary, with each family making an informed choice.

Why Product Sales?

The primary purpose of the Product Sales Programs is to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Girls taking part in Product Sales activities learn firsthand the value of making plans and setting goals. They invest their time and energy and, in the process, earn money for their Girl Scout Troops/Groups. Those resources can then be spent to carry out their Troop/Group plans, or they can be saved for future Girl Scout activities. When selling Girl Scout products, girls also learn the basic steps in sound financial management - goal setting, planning, earning, spending, saving and investing.

In addition to these direct benefits to individual girls, their Troops/Groups and Service Units, Girl Scout Product Sales Programs benefit everyone involved in Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay . These activities help to provide many, but not all, of the resources needed by the Council to offer program events, learning opportunities, camping experiences for girls, education sessions for Girl Scout Volunteers and so much more for every girl in Girl Scouting. Every day Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay uses its resources wisely to help girls to discover, connect and take action to make the world a better place.

Supporting annual Product Sales Programs provides girls with the opportunity to learn business, math, communication, self-esteem, goal setting, and teamwork skills that will help them throughout their lives. Product Sale activities are not just about earning money, they contribute to the Girl Scout Program by adding another dimension to an already exciting and educational Girl Scout experience!

Remember, money earned during Council sponsored Product Sales stays locally to support the Girl Scout Program for over 24,000 girl and adult members!
