Join us at camp to make lasting memories in 2009! Come as a troop or just you with your girl!  Everyone’s Welcome! There are many exciting programs for girls of all ages. Click the links to the left for more information on Girl Scout Camps, or browse the list of events below.

JULY

Space Camp at Camp Sandy Pines (Day Camp)

WHO: See sessions below
WHEN: July 20th – July 24th, 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday
WHERE: Camp Sandy Pines
There will be an optional overnight on Thursday (includes dinner and Friday’s breakfast)
COST: $110 per week per girl. Cost includes two snacks everyday as well as crafts, a shirt and a patch.
This fee will be waived for one camper if an adult family member (above the age of 18) volunteers to help for the week. If you would like to volunteer and cannot give the entire week, we would still love to have you and you will receive a camp shirt and a patch.

Space Camp at Sandy Pines is a fun and fascinating way to explore science and space. This Council Supported Volunteer Camp is all about the GIRL! Campers will receive an interactive look at what it is like to live, sleep and eat in space. There will be great crafts, fun games, and service projects, too. Sandy Pines is located in Fruitland, MD.

Little Dippers ( Entering Grades 1-3)
Uncover the wild and wondrous world of space exploration. Pretend you are on a space station and learn how astronauts breathe, eat and live in outer space.

Orion’s Belt (Entering Grades 4-5)
Explore the exciting world of space with new-found friends! As Orion’s belt, you will link together to find out how rockets fly, how astronauts survive in zero gravity and what it takes to support a team when you live in tight quarters.

Andromeda’s Crown (Entering Grades 6-8)
As Andromeda’s Crown you will make new friends and find ways to better equip the space stations of the future. You will build rockets, construct motors, and do other exciting science projects.

High Adventure  6-Day California Exchange Trek

WHO: Entering Ninth Grade Cadettes,  Ambassadors, Seniors, and Adults
WHERE: San Diego, California
WHEN: Wednesday, July 29 to Monday, August 10
COST: Approximately $160 plus food, airfare and spending money

Application Deadline:  March 29, 2009  (Min 2girls/Max12 girls, 2 adults)

Stretch your horizons physically and mentally by traveling across the country and visiting sister scouts on the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Hike in elevations of 9,000 feet, swim in a glacier lake and create relationships with new found friends that will last a lifetime.  

Note:  Prior training/participation in Trailblazer activities, demonstration of adequate skills and submission of an application form are required. For an application form and details of necessary prerequisites, please contact

Troop Camp Weekend! (by the way, you DON’T need to be “Camp Trained” for this)

WHO: Daisies / Brownies / Juniors / Cadettes / Seniors / Ambassadors / Leaders / Female Family Members & Friends!
(Adult Registrations are ARE required for girl’s participation!)
WHERE: Grove Point Program Center
WHEN: Friday July 31, 2009 (arrival between 7pm-8pm) – Sunday August 2, 2009 (10am departure)
COST: $40 Per registered Girl Scouts / $45 Per non-Girl Scout

Come explore the best of Camp Grove Point, troop style! This weekend will be packed with swimming, boating, archery, arts & crafts, nature and more! Not camp trained? Don’t worry, you don’t have to be to attend… but you might want to consider enrolling a person or two in the Camping Basics II course that’s happening that SAME WEEKEND at camp! All 4 meals and 2 snacks ARE provided!

What about taking CAMPING BASICS at the SAME TIME?!

Camping Basics (the course you need to take your troop on an outdoor trip) will be held concurrently with Troop Camp Weekend. Registrants will live separately from the troop, learning skills like planning, packing, cooking, firebuilding, site care, outdoor program activities and more! You’ll see your troop around camp during the weekend, but will be on a separate track of activities just for you. … 2 birds, 1 stone… one weekend for your whole troop!

Family Camp Weekend!

WHO: Daisies / Brownies / Juniors / Cadettes / Seniors / Ambassadors & members of their Families!

WHEN: Friday July 31, 2009 (arrival between 7pm-8pm) – Sunday August 2, 2009 (10am departure)
COST: $150 Per Family (up to 5 members) / $50 Per additional member or individual participants

A special memory for the whole family! Girl, Women, Men & Boys.. all members of the family are welcome at this relaxing weekend getaway! You’ll be able to choose you own adventure, selecting from options like: kayaking or sailing, swimming, challenging yourself on the teams challenge course, shooting archery, shooting some hoops or playing a game of tennis, arts & crafts, exploring our trail system and much more! All activities will be on a “drop in” basis, so you can choose what you’d like to do during each activity slot, or just relax together, hike the trails, read a book and chill out! This is YOUR family weekend! All 4 meals and 2 snacks ARE provided!

This year’s camp theme is Outdoor Survival. Choose from a variety of activities – canoeing and kayaking, swimming, hiking, archery, outdoor cooking, and more! Girls who are ready to spend three nights at camp will have the experience of a lifetime at this all-volunteer led camp. AUGUST

High Adventure Kayak Interest Group

WHO: Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors
WHEN: Session One: August 9, 2009 1:30 - 5 pm
Session Two: Sunday, August 23, 2009 1:30 - 5 pm
Session Three and Four will be determined by the group.
WHERE: Camp Todd
COST: $60. Includes camping trip, food, and supplies for all sessions.
NOTE: All meetings will include kayaking so dress appropriately.

Do you love to kayak? Do you want to learn more? Come to each of these three sessions and learn all you need to know to take a trip and camp out overnight. Feel free to invite your friends to attend. You don't have to be an active Troop member to participate.
