Hi Everyone,

The girls want me to tell you that they love you, they are having fun, thanks for sending them and they don’t want to come home. They also enjoying spending money on souvenirs. Today we toured a chocolate plantation and worked off our taste testing by hiking 2 miles to the top of the volcano in the rain! :) I have included a picture so you can share in our fun. More soon!

Congratulations to the following Teens who enjoyed Destinations in 2009:

Christina M. (New Castle, DE) – Costa Rica
While in Costa Rica, Christina lodged in the very heart of the rainforest! Imagine the sights and sounds of the toucans and howler monkeys! She enjoyed hiking the skirts of the majestic (and active) Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna, whitewater rafting, kayaking, and zip-lining high above Lake Arenal, and taking salsa lessons! Christina was also able to relax in the area’s mineral pools, visit beautiful beaches in Punta Leona, and ride an outrigger canoe into the ocean. Before returning home Christina and several Costa Rican Girl Guides found time to do a service project and learn games from each other.

Caitlyn N. (Wilmington, DE) – Timbers Trek: Sailing (Michigan)
Caitlyn put her skills to the test as she set sail on the picturesque lakes of Northern Michigan during her sailing trip. Caitlyn learned nautical terms while learning the ins and outs of a Lightning Sail boating, helped plan a three night sailing trip to an island on the lake, and practiced "Leave No Trace" camping. She also had the opportunity to challenge herself on the Tango Tower and high ropes course, played at the lake and went sightseeing in downtown Traverse City.
