Why do girls become Juliette Girl Scouts?

  • They may live in towns or neighborhoods where there are no troops or groups.

  • They may have been troop members at one time, but their troop no longer meets. Perhaps their previous troop leader moved away or chose not to volunteer for another year.

  • They--or their parents--may have other activities that make it difficult to attend troop meetings.

Regardless of why a girl chooses to become a Juliette Girl Scout, there are still many fun things to do as a Girl Scout, such as:

  • Attend Events—Juliette Girl Scouts can attend any Girl Scout activity for their grade level. Many fun events are available to choose from - check out our programs!

  • Go to Girl Scout Camp—Juliette Girl Scouts can explore the world around them through a summer adventure.

  • Sell Cookies and More—Juliette Girl Scouts can sell Girl Scout cookies and fall products.

  • Wear the Girl Scout Uniform
(Bay Shop | Patch placement guide)
Juliette Girl Scouts can choose to wear the Girl Scout uniform appropriate for their grade level. Instead of troop numbers, Juliette Girl Scouts can wear a special purple Juliette Girl Scout patch on their sash or vest.

  • Earn Awards—Juliettes can earn the appropriate official Girl Scout recognitions for their grade level—Try-Its, Badges, Interest Project Awards, etc., or religious recognitions and display them on the front of their sash or vest. Juliette Girl Scouts can earn other unofficial recognitions, such as council patches, which are to be worn on the back of the sash or vest.

  • Stay Connected—Volunteers called Juliette Consultants help keep local Juliettes and their families informed, involved, and connected to the fun of Girl Scouting. Juliette Consultants invite Juliettes to events sponsored by the local service unit and sometimes accompany a group of Juliettes to a council-sponsored event.

  • Get the News—Juliette Girl Scouts receive all council publications such as the Program Resource Calendar and the Camp Brochure.
