Summer Daze Day Camp

A fun and healthy way for girls to try new things, make friends, and create lasting memories. Summer Daze is held over three fun-filled sessions: June 16–20, June 23–27 and July 7–11 at Camp Todd in Denton, Maryland.

Grade 1 | Grades 2-3 | Grades 4-5 | Grades 6-8 | Camp Aide

Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. NEW! There will be an optional overnight on Thursday (includes dinner). The cost is $110 per camper, which includes lunch and snacks everyday, as well as a t-shirt, crafts, and patches. Bus transportation is available for a fee.

Join in the adventure, swim, hike, enjoy arts and crafts, games and much more during your stay at Summer Daze!

SESSION ONE: JUNE 16–20
Insects ABC
Have you ever wondered about the little crawlies that cover the ground? Have you ever thought about their homes? Come to camp and explore these fascinating questions and earn the Council’s Own Insect ABC’s Patch.

SESSION TWO: JUNE 23–27
Beaches
Do you like the beach? Me too! Come and discover the beaches of Camp Todd, while exploring new habitats, plant life, birds, and turtles you may have never seen before.

SESSION THREE: JULY 7–11
Butterflies
Beautiful butterflies! Learn all about the many different colors, sizes, and shapes of the butterflies around the world. See what you have in common with these majestic creatures.

Grades 2–3

Try a little of everything at camp: canoe, hike, swim, do crafts and complete and earn a Girl Scout Try It Patch!

SESSION ONE: JUNE 16–20
Science Wonders
Science is awesome! Come try new tricks that are just like magic. As a scientist you will uncover the mystery.

SESSION TWO: JUNE 23–27
Girl Sports
Throw, catch, kick, volley, and strike through this fun sports course. See how great an athlete you will become through practice and determination!

SESSION THREE: JULY 7–11
Making Music
Join the band! Make your own musical instruments and play along with other girls who love music and want to learn more about it.

Grades 4–5

Check out all that camp has to offer—swim, boat, archery, hike, play games, and earn a cool badge too.
Please choose only one program for the week.

SESSION ONE: JUNE 16–20
Science Discovery
Be a scientific detective. Ask questions, find the answers, and put your own investigative powers to the test!

Small Boating Crafts
Glide across the water using your new canoeing and kayaking skills! This program will cover the history, the lingo, and the skills for you to gain a greater understanding of kayaking & canoeing.

SESSION TWO: JUNE 23–27
Ms. Fix It
Explore your basic repair skills. You’ll become your family’s favorite Ms. Fix it!

Outdoor Creativity
Poets, writers, artists, and musicians have been inspired by nature to create some of their most famous works. Let nature inspire you!

SESSION THREE: JULY 7–11
Jeweler
Ever think of new ways to use old things? Ever wonder what a shame it is to throw something away just because you don’t use it any more? All types of materials can be used to decorate your outfit or bedroom!

Small Boating Crafts
Glide across the water using your new canoeing and kayaking skills! This program will cover the history, the lingo, and the skills for you to gain a greater understanding of kayaking & canoeing.

Grades 6–8

Do all the fun things you have grown to love, like swimming, boating, archery, hiking, arts and crafts, and playing games while earning an Interest Project Patch.

SESSION ONE: JUNE 16–20
Camp Aide Training
This training will give you all the tools, training and trust you’ll need to start working with girls in a camp setting. You will have the opportunity to work with girls at camp, while you gain confidence in yourself and learn new skills. Plus, this fun program allows you to participate in the fun-filled activities at camp, like games, swimming, archery, and more!

SESSION TWO: JUNE 23–27
Outdoor Survival
In the wild of Camp Todd, you and your teammates will use your heads to make it out alive! Work alone and in groups to find food and shelter with very minimal supplies. Learn how staying calm and seeking inner confidence can pull you through life’s sticky situations.

SESSION THREE: JULY 7–11
Paddle Pole and Roll
Explore your more adventurous side by enhancing your canoeing and kayaking skills! You will be able to design your own boat and see if it floats. You will spend your mornings with new-found friends playing games, exploring the lake, and learning the skills that will make you a pro on the water!

Camp Aide Opportunities!
Grades 8–12

If you have taken Program Aide training and/or plan to receive Camp Aide training during the first session of Summer Daze, then sign up to help at Summer Daze, Camp Hogwarts, or Water Water Everywhere! You’ll have lots of fun working with the younger girls and other staff in a cool camp setting. Plus, you will earn all your hours to complete your training right at camp! The discounted rate for girls who are accepted as Summer Daze or Camp Hogwarts Camp Aides is $20, and $10 for Water Water Everywhere. This will help us cover the cost of materials provided to you during the week. In addition to filling out the camp registration form, please contact Cathy Stafford for the Camp Aide Camp Application at cstafford@cbgsc.org. Please note that due to limited space, we may not be able to accept every girl for a Camp Aide position.

We Need Volunteers!
Interested in volunteering for Summer Daze, Camp Hogwarts, or Water Water Everywhere, or know someone who would be? Please call Cathy Stafford at 410-742-5107 or email her at cstafford@cbgsc.org. One camper’s fee will be waived if a family member volunteers for the week to help. If you would like to volunteer and can’t give the entire week, you’ll receive a camp shirt and a patch.
