Over
200 adult and girl members of the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay
Council came together to elect new board members at the annual
meeting held in Dover, Delaware.
The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council is
pleased to announce the election of the following to the Board of
Directors:
Chair of the Board
– Gloria Z. Diodato
Gloria graduated from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and
the University of Delaware. She is Assistant Dean of Graduate and
Executive Programs at the Alfred Lerner College of Business and
Economics at the University of Delaware. Currently she
serves as chair of the board of directors and was previously chair
of the finance committee. She was also instrumental in helping to
develop our Strategic Plan. Gloria was a Girl Scout as a girl.
Gloria was re-elected for a second term as Board Chair.
Mary M. Culley,
Esq., 2nd Vice President
Mary received her B.A. from St. Mary’s College for Women, Notre
Dame, Indiana, her J.D. from Delaware Law School and her Master of
Laws in Taxation from Temple University School of Graduate Legal
Studies. She is a partner in the Wilmington law firm of Morris,
James, Hitchens & Williams where she practices law in related
tax matters, and elder law. Mary currently serves on our Board of
Directors, is board liaison for Association V, serves on the Women
of Distinction and Community Development Committees and was a Girl
Scout leader. She is active in other community organizations such
as Public Allies. Mary belongs to the Wilmington Trail Club and is
a certified scuba diver.
Members-at-Large
David Denny
Dave graduated from the University of Delaware with a BS in Business
Administration/Marketing and is employed at Baltimore Aircoil
in Milford, Delaware. He has served as troop leader, service team
member and weekend site monitor and received the Seagull Pin. He is
involved in community organizations such as the Dover Elks and the
Presbyterian Church of Dover. Dave’s hobbies include golf and doing
jigsaw puzzles.
Barbara L. Lane
Barbara graduated with Chatham College with a BA in Economics and
Math. From 1997 – 2004 she was Executive Director of the United
Fund of Talbot County. She is a member of our Talbot County
President’s Advisory Counsel and is active in community
organizations such as the Talbot County Free Library, Women’s &
Girls Fund, Character Counts!, and the Historical Society of Talbot
County. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys gardening, reading,
needlework, cooking, swimming and sailing, horseback riding and
traveling.
Givvel Marrero
Givvel graduated from Wilmington College with a BS in Business
Management and from Widener University with a degree in Government &
Politics and is employed by ING Direct. He is active in
community organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Roberto
Clemente Youth League, Children’s Choice and the Latin American
Community Center.
Kevin McCormick
Kevin graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University and from Stonier
Graduate School of Banking with a degree in banking and finance. He
is currently Vice President at Artisans’ Bank in
Wilmington. Kevin is currently on the Board of Directors,
Executive Committee and is Chair of the Finance Committee and is
active in organizations such as United Way of Delaware, Junior
Achievement, Diocesan Board of Catholic Schools, and Holy Angels
CYM. He enjoys traveling/sightseeing with his family, going to the
beach, reading, and all sports.
Judith M. O’Neil
Judy graduated from the Boston College with a BS in
Biology, from State University of New York with a MS in Marine
Science and from the University of Maryland with a PhD in
Oceanography. She is employed as Assistant Resident Professor at
the University of Maryland, Cambridge, Maryland and as Assistant
Professor at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.
Judy is active with a Girl Scout troop in Easton and volunteers at
Sts. Peter & Paul School. In her spare time she enjoys sailing,
music, natural history and photography.
Deneen Stewart
Deneen graduated from Fordham Law School and the University of
Pennsylvania and is employed at ING Direct as General
Counsel. She is active with ING Direct Kids Foundation and YMCA’s
Camp Tockwogh and was a former Girl Scout. In her spare time she
enjoys water skiing, reading and biking.
Chris Sulpizio
Chris graduated from St. Joseph’s University with a B.S. in
Finance. Currently she is Senior Vice President-Retail Lending at
Bank One in Wilmington. In addition to serving on our
Northern President’s Advisory Council, Chris participates in Camp
Exec and assisted with a Girl Scout troop in Sparrows Run, New
Castle County and with her daughter’s troop. In her spare time,
Chris enjoys sports activities, reading and spending time with her
two daughters.
Michael Trolio
Mike graduated from the University of Delaware with a BS in
accounting. He is currently employed with Gunnip and Company
in Wilmington. Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors,
Nominating Committee, Master Plan Task Group and the Finance
Committee. He is involved with community organizations such as
American Lung Association, St. John the Beloved School and Parish
and Piedmont Little League. Mike enjoys biking, running and golf in
his spare time.
Girl Scouting
builds girls of confidence, courage, and character, who make the
world a better place. We do that by providing girls with personal
leadership development and programs that build real life skills for
the real world.
