Newark,
DE –
On Friday, January 25, Girl Scouts from Newark's Service Unit 28 met
with Mayor Vance Funk to present him with cookies and to learn a bit
about what a mayor does for the city. In addition to cookies, the
Girl Scouts awarded the Mayor a signed commemoration thanking him
for his support of the Girl Scouts and women in Delaware.
With wide eyes
and smiles on their faces, the Girl Scouts listened intently as the
Mayor described his duties as mayor, discussed some of the projects
he is currently working on, and talked about Newark’s long history.
The city will celebrate its 250th anniversary this
spring.
