Newark, DE,
July 18, 2006:
The Girl Scout Mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and
character who make the world a better place. The Girl Scout Gold
Award exemplifies our mission.
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest recognition that a Senior
Girl Scout may earn. Someone once described the Gold Award as being
"what you really want to be remembered for" in Girl Scouting. For
many, the leadership skills, organizational skills, and sense of
community and commitment that come from "going for the gold" cement
the foundation for a lifetime of active citizenship.
We are very proud of the young women who have earned the Girl Scout
Gold Award. Please join us in congratulating the young women on
their achievements.
