Morgan Wilson is a Brownie Girl Scout from Newark, Delaware. She is a quick thinking level headed seven-year old who just earned the Safety Sense Try-It at her troop meeting. Morgan was able to put her new knowledge into action on a cold, windy and icy morning when she and her mom Amy Wilson were on their way to school.  This routine trip that Morgan and Mom take to school was far from normal on this wintry day in February, when the car skidded out of control and collided with another car.  Morgan had to think fast because her mom was unconscious with a broken arm and ribs.  Morgan using the knowledge she obtained in her recent Girl Scout meeting was able to stay level headed enough to flag down passing traffic to call 911 and even able to share her mothers life threatening allergic reaction to latex.  Because of Morgan’s ability to stay calm, contact emergency help and share valuable information her mother was able to obtain the emergency help needed to regain conscious and be taken to a local hospital to be treated.  Morgan is an example of the Girl Scout mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place!

Girl Scouting builds girls of confidence, courage, and character, who make the world a better place. We do that by providing girls with personal leadership development and programs that build real life skills for the real world.
