Teen Girls Enter the Marketplace

Newark, DE, March 16, 2005:
Mind Your Own
Business is program designed to expose teen Girl Scouts to the
world of business by being business women themselves. The teens
start their businesses from writing a business plan to selecting a
product/service to creating advertising to actually selling their
product. The program started in January with local female business
owners as well as assistance of the Small Business Administration
offering advice and support to the teens.
During the Marketplace Event on March 19, the following teen
companies will include: Morning Glory Café; Mad Hatter Tea
Party; Fly Away Home Stationary; B & K Baking Goods; JT's Jewelry;
Jess's Jewelry; Candy Shop Candles; Funky Fashion Bracelets; Tea
Shirts; Royale's Babysitting Service; D& A's Hair Salon Service;
Taurus Fashions; Beautiful Business Cards; Jar Heads Inc.;
Libra's Bakery; Smiley Smoothies; Scarves by Stephanie; Karma Lip
Balm, Soap & Beaded Earrings; Flying Purple People Eaters; Cindy
Pops & More; Sunny Day Madness; Kelsey's Dog Walking; MAC Attack;
C.I. Jewelry; Face Portraits; Sizzle Carder , & Abby's Claymations.
Goods and services will be offered for sale. Funds raised will go to
specific projects of the girls such as their Silver Award and
community service endeavors.
The public is encouraged to attend.

Who: 30-50 teen
Girl Scouts from around Delaware.
Girl Scouting
builds girls of confidence, courage, and character, who make the
world a better place. We do that by providing girls with personal
leadership development and programs that build real life skills for
the real world.
