The
Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council is pleased to announce the
election of the following to the Board of Directors:
Lisa Quadrini,
First Vice President (2nd term)
Lisa received her
MBA from University of Hartford in Connecticut. She is Vice
President-Private Client at Merrill Lynch in Wilmington. She is
active in other community organizations such as the Ronald McDonald
House of Wilmington. She currently serves on our Board as first
vice president and is chair of Community Develop Committee. In her
spare time she enjoys golf, entertaining and family activities.
Calvin
Christopher, Treasurer (2nd term)
Calvin graduated
from Drexel University with a B.S. in accounting and is Director of
Human Resource Services at Milligan & Company LLC in Philadelphia.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer and is
active in other community organizations such as Kappa Alpha Psi
Fraternity, Walnut Street YMCA and Chairs the Delaware State Human
Relations Commission. Calvin has received numerous awards such as
the People’s Award from People’s Settlement and the YMCA Black
Achievers Award. In his spare time he enjoys long distance running,
fitness training and mentoring.
MEMBERS-AT-LARGE-BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Marianne Abdul (1st
term)
Marianne graduated
form Drexel University with a B.S. in electrical engineering and is
currently attending Strayer University seeking her MBA in
marketing. She is the Wholesale Manager for Delmarva Power in
Newark. She is active in other organizations such as Junior
Achievement and Nativity BVM. Marianne has received numerous awards
such as Power, Style & Brilliance Honoree from YWCA and the
Jefferson Award from the AM Institute of Public Service. In her
spare time she enjoys farming, reading, traveling and writing.
Michelle Schwandt
(1st term)
Michelle received
her B.S. in Psychology from the United States Military Academy at
West Point. She is a former Senior Executive Vice President at MBNA
America. She has an extensive military career, was a UH-1
helicopter pilot and achieved the rank of Captain, United States
Army Aviation. Michelle also served in the Gulf War. She is
involved with the United Way of Delaware, Mount Olive Cemetary
Preservation fund, and received the Young Tocqueville Award for the
past two years. Michelle attended Grove Point summer camp for nine
summers and now enjoys horseback riding, water activities, traveling
and family time.
Lynne Shand (2nd
term)
Lynne graduated
from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, North Carolina
and is employed by the Anne Arundel Community College. She is a
current Board member, serves on our Master Plan Task Group and is
chair of the Strategic Plan Task Group. Lynne also serves on the
Board of the Queen Anne’s County Public Library and enjoys
needlework, reading and gardening.
Deneen Stewart (2nd
term)
Deneen graduated
from the University of Pennsylvania and the Fordham Law School. She
is currently employed as General Counsel at ING Direct. She is a
current Board member, serves on the Nominating Committee and is
Board liaison to Association IV. Deneen also serves on the Board
for the YMCA of Delaware and ING Direct Kids Foundation. She is a
former Girl Scout and enjoys waterskiing, reading and biking in her
spare time.
Mary Warren (1st
term)
Mary earned her
B.S in Home Economics from the Eastern Illinois University. She is
the Owner of Amber Waves Baskets in Newark, Delaware. As well as
serving on the Community Development Committee, she is also Planning
Chair for the Women of Distinction Committee and she is a Committee
member of the Wilmington Flower Market. Besides learning how to run
her new business she enjoys tennis, collecting artwork and
traveling.
Girl Scouting
builds girls of confidence, courage, and character, who make the
world a better place. We do that by providing girls with personal
leadership development and programs that build real life skills for
the real world.
