Opportunities at our Campgrounds
Join us at camp for a few hours, an entire day or a weekend!
Our camps are a great destination for a troop picnic and hiking.
Program Specialists are available to facilitate hands-on
activities at Camp Country Center, Camp Grove Point, and Camp
Todd. Self-led program kits are available for use at Camp Sandy Pines.

Meeting / Activity Space
Troops may use space free of charge in any camp building on weekdays for regular troop meetings (2 hour limit), if space is available. In return for this privilege, you must leave the meeting space and bathrooms clean and perform 2 service projects each year for the site. Meeting space reservations may be made for the upcoming school year beginning each July. Weekends, Special events and Overnights require the normal fee. A Troop Meeting Space Agreement form must be completed and approved by the program department to reserve meeting space at any campsite. Outdoor Skills

Archery - Learn the basics of archery equipment, safety and target shooting. Activities are adjusted for different ages and abilities. Weather permitting. All ages, 1 ˝ hrs., $2.50 per participant includes an Archery Patch

Orienteering – Learn to find your way with a map and compass. Activities are adjusted for different ages and abilities. Weather permitting. All ages, 2-3 hours, $2.50 per participant includes an Orienteering Patch.

Swimming – (Camp Todd or Grove Point only) Your program specialists at Todd and Grove Point are Life Guards. Group adults will need to provide assistance as watchers. Swimming at Todd is in the lake, swimming at Grove Point is in the pool and is limited to pool availability. All swimming is weather permitting.
All ages, $2 per person (girls and adults) per hour.



Nature & Ecology

Beetlemania – (Camp Grove Point only) Explore the world of the Puritan Tiger Beetle. Tiger Beetles are an endangered species and they call Camp Grove Point home! Rain or Shine. All ages, 1 ˝ hr., $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes patch.

Creepin' and Crawlin'! - Glimpse the world of tiny critters. How many legs? How many eyes? Wings or no wings? Does it sting or bite or just eat leaves? These animals are everywhere! Let's get to know them a little better. We'll go collecting and share our discoveries. All ages, 1 ˝ hr. (Fall, Spring and Summer), $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes patch

Eco-Explorer Try-It - You'll learn about food chains and who lives in what habitats? Enjoy a scavenger hunt hike! Rain or Shine. Girls in grades 1-3, 1 ˝ hrs., $3 per girl ($24 minimum) includes try-it

Geology Rocks! - Girls will examine a variety of geology specimens to become familiar with the three basic rock types, start a collection and hike to examine the special Geology of each camp. Rain or Shine. All ages, 2 hrs., $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes patch. Expanded version will complete several requirements for Jr Rocks Rock Badge.

Miss Spider’s Tea Party – Discover the fascinating world of spiders. You’ll learn how spiders hunt for food and why a spider does not get stuck in it’s own web. Go on a spider hike. (For Daisies, Miss Spider’s Tea Party includes a story and snack) Rain or Shine. Brownies & Daisies, 1 ˝ hrs., $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes patch.

Night and Day - Girls will investigate the earth-sun system. How does it change from night to day? Why is it lighter during the summer evenings? Girls will construct an earth-sun model to take home! 4th grade and older, 2 hrs., $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes patch

Ranger Patch Program – Become a GSCB Camp Ranger! Girls will learn about the history and geography of the camp, career opportunities and complete a service project. Rain or Shine. All ages, 1 ˝ hr., $3.50 per girl includes patch

Water Wonders! - We can't live without it! WATER. Follow the Flow! What happens to a drop of water as it travels from the ocean to a drop of rain? Every living thing needs water! Girls will learn how people impact the quality of the Earth's Water. All ages, 2 hrs., $4 per girl ($28 minimum). Expanded version fulfills JR Water Wonders Badge - $5.00 per girl includes badge.


Team Building / Challenge

Science Labs - sponsored by Agilent

Wizard Science - Ooey Gooey-Slime, goop, drip-drop activities demonstrate the properties of liquids and solids! Does it pour? Absorb? Repel? Dissolve? Fun experiments demonstrate some of the science we use everyday but didn't know how it worked! All ages, rain or shine, program varies by age level. 1 ˝ hrs., $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes patch

Get Energized! - Electricity is invisible! How does it work? What would life be like without it? Girls will build their own electrical circuit device to take home! Grades 2-12, project difficulty varies by age. Rain or shine. 1 ˝ hrs., $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes patch

Light! - We'll use prisms, mirrors, and lenses; to investigate how light changes, how we see things. Girls will construct a project to take home for more investigation. Rain or shine, all ages - program varies by age level.1 ˝ - 2 hrs., $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes patch

Weather - What kind of cloud is that? Will it rain or snow? Be hot or cold? Windy or calm? Explore the science behind hurricanes and sunny days. We'll make a cloud, measure the wind, examine the effects of temperature changes. 4th grade - teens, 1 ˝  - 2 hrs., $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes patch

Diggin Dinos - Experience the thrill of a fossil dig as you uncover and examine the remains of prehistoric life. Girls will explore the conditions necessary for a fossil to be preserved for millions of years. Each participant will prepare a fossil to take home. All ages, rain or shine. 2 hrs., $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes a patch

Who Done It? - Fingerprints, invisible inks, ransom notes written with special pens! Girls will be detectives as they investigate the science of Crime Scene Investigation techniques. Take home mystery to solve. Rain or shine, 3-8 grades. 1 ˝ hrs., $5 per girl ($35 minimum) includes patch

Check-out kits at each site are also available for leaders who wish to facilitate their own program activities. Contact the on-site program specialist to reserve these kits:

Paper Making Kit (Not available at Grove Point) – learn the art of making your own paper. You’ll use recycled materials to make your own paper. All ages, $5 rental fee.

Outdoor Program Backpack - Tools and instructions to help you guide your girls in nature exploration. All ages, $5 rental fee.

Parachute Games – Colorful parachutes are available for parachute games, instruction booklet included. All ages, $5 rental fee.
