Donate your unused vehicle, and help those in need.Donate your used car,
truck, RV, boat, camper or motorcycle to Goodwill through us... and help put someone on the road to success. You'll also be helping girls in the Delmarva Peninsula through Girl Scouting!

Why should I donate my vehicle to Goodwill Industries through the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council?

Help your community.
Your donation to Goodwill helps someone with a barrier to employment obtain the skills needed to get and keep a job. Your donation will also help girls throughout the Delmarva Peninsula build character and skills for success in the real world.

Goodwill Industries operates the only non-profit car auction in Delaware. That means 100% of the revenue generated from the sale of vehicles goes directly to Goodwill's community services and to girl programs from the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council.

You may get a tax deduction.
Goodwill Industries is a non profit, 501(c)3 charitable organization. Your donation is tax deductible as allowable by law. Check with your accountant or tax preparer.

Convenience
We can organize with Goodwill to tow your vehicle from anywhere in Newcastle County or Elkton at no charge to you! Or drop your vehicle off at any Goodwill location with the keys, title and current mileage and designate the Girl Scouts as the recipient of the proceeds.

What vehicles do you accept for Goodwill?

Cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, campers - just about any type of vehicle. It must be in running condition with no body damage. We reserve the right not to accept vehicles due to poor condition.

Will I receive a receipt for tax purposes?
Yes. The receipt will have all the information pertaining to your vehicle.

How much can I take as a deduction?
Goodwill does not assign a value to any merchandise donated. It is the sole responsibility of the donor to determine the value to use for a tax deduction. It is recommended that you use the "blue book" value and adjust according to the condition of the vehicle. We recommend you follow the advice of your tax preparer to assure you are within IRS guidelines.

What should I do with my tag?
It is recommended that you turn your tag into the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) along with the Seller's Report (Delaware titles) and registration.

What happens to the vehicle I donate?
All donated vehicles are brought to the Goodwill Auction Facility at the Goodwill Center at 300 East Lea Boulevard in Wilmington, Delaware. Vehicles are sold in a public auction held on Wednesday twice a month.
