OFF TO THE CAPITOL WE GO

ToGetHerThere Takes Its Message To Capitol Hill

TGHT

"When girls succeed, so does society. Together we can get her there." is the mantra behind one of the biggest advocacy and fundraising campaigns dedicated to girls' leadership in history. GSCB was among GSUSA representatives as well as four other Councils in Washington D.C. on February 1 to help launch this monumental campaign. The photo above includes Girl Scouts of the USA national CEO Anna Maria Chavez, Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay CEO Anne Hogan, the CEOs of neighboring councils, staff, and girls. Two of the girls are from our council. We were so proud to have had such great representation from our Council. More information about ToGetHerThere can be found here. Take the pledge, and take action!

WMDT Channel 47 – Media Opportunity

WMDTGirl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay has been selected as the WMDT non-profit media partner for 2012. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to promote the 100th anniversary, Girl Scout Cookie Program, summer camp programs, recruitment of girls and adults, and so much more. WMDT will be producing a series of commercials that will run throughout the year. They would like to get testimonials from current and past Girl Scouts to use in the commercials.  WMDT is especially interested in getting testimonials from current girl and adult members, life-time members, alumnae, generational Girl Scout families, and camp counselors, but everyone is welcome to participate in this opportunity.  Download details HERE.

The Troop collecting the most bags of donations will also receive a Pizza Party. Copies of donation receipts should be sent to Sue Rowe at the Newark office by March 10th. A Good Read

"Here Come The Girl Scouts!"

Great tool for "It's Your Story, Tell It!" Journey

The author has offered to do SKype visits with Troops who are readying or have read her book. "And now, I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation and talking to current Girl Scouts about Daisy and their own Girl Scout experiences! (I’ll be doing some skype visits with troops who have read the book, so feel free to email me at shana@shanacorey.com if you’d like." Click HERE for more info.
